Our hair grows an average of 12 to 15 cm per year. However, due to improper hair care, this growth is often not visible because the ends constantly break. Therefore, we've compiled the top 5 hair care tips that lead to visible hair growth:

#1: Wash your hair in sections
Curly and frizzy hair tends to shrink and tangle. Therefore, it's ideal to wash longer hair in sections to prevent breakage. These sections can be created with braids, twists, or hair clips.

#2: Stretched Hairstyles
Stretched hairstyles are hairstyles that lengthen or extend your hair.

This includes cornrows, twists/twist outs, braids/braid outs, Bantu knots/Bantu knot outs, the threading method, and many more. They all prove to be great hairstyles if you want to wear your hair naturally. Why?
When curly hair is straightened (this does not mean smoothing it), it does not tangle as easily and therefore does not form knots that could lead to split ends and breakage.

#3: Avoid “rough hair tools”
Coarse hair tools include flat irons, brushes (excluding Tangle Teezer and Denman Brush) or combs with small tooth spacing.

These tools tend to damage hair texture and rip out your beautiful curls. It's recommended to use your hands to detangle knots or combs with wide-toothed hair. When combing and finger detangling, your hair should always be slightly damp to increase elasticity and make it less porous.

#4: Manipulate your hair as little as possible.
The more you manipulate your hair, the higher the risk of tangles and breakage. So don't change your hairstyle every day and stick with your protective styles for longer. For example, you could wear your twists for five days during the week and a twist-out on the weekend.

However, you should only maintain protective styles for a maximum of 4 weeks, as your hair usually needs more intensive care after this time.

#5: Moisture! Moisture! Moisture!
If you don't moisturize your hair and then lock in that moisture, it can lead to dryness and breakage, which can eventually make you feel like your hair isn't growing. But it's constantly growing! That's why we recommend the LOC method to ensure your hair is always beautifully hydrated.
